ROMULUS, MI, February 24th 2010 – Today Kim Gesch, Chief Operating Officer for MetroAir Virtual presented Cody Wilson as the new East Coast Operations Director. Wilson only joined MetroAir Virtual October 31st, 2009, but has evolved rapidly and was seeking ways of contributing more to the airline. MetroAir Virtual is very happy that Wilson gladly accepted the position he had been offered. In his new position as East Coast Operations Director he will be responsible for managing the schedules for both Washington, DC and Fort Lauderdale, FL operations.

Together with COO, Kim Gesch the newly appointed East Coast Operations Director is pleased to announce that, after extensive evaluation of the potential markets to be served from Kansas City, service flights to Detroit, Indianapolis, Memphis, Oklahoma City and New Orleans are available as of today.

Both regional and mainline services have been analyzed to provide optimum benefit to the entire MetroAir network. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, MSY served 9.7 million passengers per year, nearly all of them non-connecting. In 2009, it served 7,781,678 passengers, representing a decrease of 2.3% over the previous year. CEO Matt Calsada believes MetroAir will also benefit greatly from the addition to the network and hopes the addition will also benefit New Orleans in increasing it’s businesses.

We have brought ATA back from the dead and are fully set up through vafinancials. We are accepting pilot applications and are in need of a hub manager for dallas/ft worth. Also if there is anyone with painting experience we need a couple planes painted with the newest livery from ATA. We try to stick to the real life fleet that their once was, but considering this is a ressurection we would like to grow with our fleet and hubs. I’m talking (default fsx) 747’s and crj 700’s. Our main hubs as of now are Chicago(KORD), Indianapolis(KIND), and Dallas/Fort Worth(KDFW). We are still getting our feet wet in the business, but have the drive and love for the skies. Hope to see some newcomers in the near future!

Romulus, MI (AP) - Metro Air Virtual Airlines announced today it would be resuming flights from its hub at Ontario International Airport to Honolulu International Airport. The Airline had discontinued flights a few months ago due to restructuring of their Airbus A330 route structure. The route will now be run with members of its Airbus A319 fleet.

Chief Operating Officer Kim Gesch explained the reasoning behind the restructuring in a brief statement issued to the press.

“Recently we found our Airbus A330 fleet was losing money. Our operations team analyzed the old route structuring and found that, under our current cost structuring, Ontario to Honolulu was not an optimal route for the A330. Furthermore, we wanted to shift our focus with the A330 to international, transatlantic flights.

It was decided to go for ETOPS rating on the A319 fleet. We have received our ETOPS rating on the A319 fleet, and we are now using the A319 fleet to fly from Onatrio International to Honolulu International. It is our thought that this will further optimize our route system, and allow us to sustain growth through these tough economic times.”

With future bases planned in Miami and Washington-Dulles, Coastal Horizons hopes to be the virtual airline that not only promotes realistic simulation of airline operations but the virtual airline that supports the growth, community, and entertainment of flight simulator enthusiasts world-wide. Our proprietary system interfaces with the VAFS (Virtual Airline Financial Systems) network providing a level of realism that is emerging in the Virtual Airline industry. This allows us to not only compete and coordinate with other airlines, but also be a part of this vast and ever-expanding network of virtual air travel.

We operate a state-of-the-art fleet of Airbus aircraft such as the A319, 320, 321, and Boeing 757 aircraft. As our plans for success and the growth of our airline continues, we are continuously reviewing our business and operational needs and are in the development of plans for an additional fleet of wide-body aircraft such as the Airbus A330 with our European destinations just on the Horizon.

This week Air21 Virtual Airlines announced it’s opening, scheduled for March 4, 2010. The retro styled airline based on the real world Air21 features the routes and livery from 1996/1997, the years the real world Air21 was in operation. Award winning pilot and long time Air Fresno VA CEO Peter McKay, along with his daughter Sarah, put the airline together over the last 18 months, researching and contacting former staff to make the virtual airline as authentic as possible. From the Project Fokker F28-4000 aircraft to the actual published timetable, everything is there. Also in the planning is a contemporary take on the airline, scheduled for sometime this summer, that will share the same website. The modern Air21 will use the Project Opensky CRJ-200 and some of the same routes from the 1996 timetable.

Air21 can be found at www.air21va.com.
