On Jet America’s website there is a short message stating the reason for closure is “rising fuel prices”. This has become a major problem in the airline industry and most airlines raised their ticket prices in order to continue operations.

The airline staff has chosen to shutdown instead of raising prices. Jet America’s CEO told reporters that there is a chance that the airline will reopen in the future, if fuel prices allow.

“I greatly appreciate all the hard work from pilots and staff over the past few months,” he ends.
