The school was established in conjunction with the Flight School to provide a more realistic environment when pilots are working towards their VATSIM rating.

The ATC school offers a rating system to encourage you to expand your knowledge and progress to the higher stations.

We offer one to one training when time permits, and those who feel they already meet the criteria for a rating may write to the ATC training school via the forum and request that the rating is awarded, although a review may be necessary.

Each rating has a specific set of criteria that must be met with a high level of confidence, and each rating within the school has a tutorial/help video to assist with your learning.

The rating are as follows:
OBS-Observer
C1-Delivery
C2-Ground
C3-Tower
C4-Radar

The school will also provide links to reading/study material for every step of the training process.

We have a team of VATSIM trained ATC instructors that are here to help you progress through your Air Traffic Control career:

Australian Frontier Virtual Airways to Hold ATC Training on March 6th

ATC Training is back this 6th of March. This time its being held at Brisbane (YBBN). The event will be held on the vatsim network and ATC is planned to be online from 7:30PM AEDT / 10:30 UTC to 10:30PM AEDT / 14:30 UTC. This time we need to focus on our departure and enroute calls and also sids and stars so find a good fmc that you can install into your aircraft. Remember that membership is not required for any of our events and that any aircraft can be flown for ATC training. For more details, please visit our events page.

Synergy ATC Academy On-Track to Begin U.S. Operations

A new FSX-based ATC training academy is set to open in the coming weeks. For those interested in becoming skilled air traffic controllers, Synergy ATC Academy, (www.synergyatc.com), is to begin operations from a U.S. hub by the end of October 2008. Prospective members are encouraged to check the website often as information becomes available.

In addition to controller training, Synergy ATC Academy also plans an in-depth flight school (Synergy Flight Academy) and a virtual airline (Syner-Jet Virtual), set to take-off in the months following the launch of the ATC training school.

Virtual Airlines looking to collaborate on special ATC events and functions are also encouraged to check out their website.
