Salt Lake City, Utah, – Atlantic Skies, the oldest continuously operational virtual airline on the internet, will celebrate its 20^th anniversary on January 4^th, 2013. It was on that date in 1993 that Andrew Phillips flew the first route for something he called “Atlantic Skies Airlines”.

Atlantic Skies pushed the Virtual Airline envelope by introducing the first automated web-based pilot reporting system (AAMS – 1999).

This was followed by the first automated, desktop ACARS system (AACARS – 2002) that integrated with Flight Simulator using FSUIPC to report directly to the corporate server.

For over two decades this virtual airline has evolved and forced changes in the industry, and has continued to fly with extraordinary success.

Though many have come and gone, this is one VA that will be around for another twenty years – if past history has anything to do with it.
