B6′s First Official Month is in the Books

As most simmers know, B6 officially launched it’s Grand Opening on the 1st of January 2010. We have put our opening month’s stats in the books which has exceeded even our wildest exepctations. During the Month of January out team has logged 576 flights for 1374 hours of flight time. That averages out to 18 flights per day at over 44 hours of flight time per day. Of course some days are busier than others with Saturdays and Sundays being our busiest times of the week. If that is the measuring stick to what the rest of the year might look like we’re in for a wild ride. I am so proud of what this team has done!

Our first official sponsored event with ZNY ARTCC was this month as we hosted our ” Live at T5 ” event. We had over 22 planes in the sky at one time. With representation from Boston, New York, Clevland and Washington Centers the skies were filled very nicely. There were some screenshots taken of JFK with over 40 planes parked at the gates. I want to especially thank ZNY ARTCC for all the staff they put together that night and a level of professionalism that represented them very well. I look forward to doing more events with them in the future! We had a great time!

We’ve finished our Q1 upgrades and have a new look to the website and also adopted the Cape Air flights into our daily schedule. As you know B6 has a direct partnership with Cape Air so we felt it would be a good addition to our schedule to offer our pilots something else unique. As a growing airline we have been well recieved by the community and most importantly we’re having a blast! Come check out our website and see our airline for yourself.

B6 Virtual Airlines Elects New Events Coordinator

B6 Virtual Airlines elects a new Events Coordinator to take the reigns. Salvatore Barcia, a member that has been with us nearly since the begining, was just recently elected into the seat of Events Coordinator. The final vote was 22 YES and 2 NO. B6 Virtual has a unique system for putting people into staff positions. Drawing its roots from the High School Band ” Chair ” system, people at B6 are allowed to challenge for positions. This unique approach keeps only the most motivated people in staff positions to keep us moving forward and growing. Salvatore is B6′s first official challenge in the airline’s staff structure.

Sal joined our airline on November 10th of this year and has worked very hard over the last couple months to get himself qualified to be able to challenge. He has worked closly with our exsisting staff to put on some great events so far. Most of the time you can either find him controlling in ZNY’s airspace or flying with us. ” His dedication to the airline and seeing it grow has without a doubt not gone unnoticed ” said Lloyd O Boyette, B6′s Facilities Engineer.

B6 Virtual Gearing Up To Officially Open

B6 finally has a home at VATUSA! CEO – Melinda Romig has created B6 Virtual to be a close knit family of pilots that celebrates the existence of everyone’s favorite “ Blue Tips “. With over 500 active routes all over the United States, Caribbean and South America we have something for just about everyone. Operating as close to real world as we can, B6 operates only the Airbus A320 and Embraer E190. Our official launch date isn’t until next month, however, we’re looking for pilots to continue to help us build the airline.
