Caal Airways has gone through a major expansion. We now have a Hub in every Continent. Europe has hubs at EGAA, EIDW, EGPF, EGGW and EDDM. N America has a Hub at KIAH. S America has a Hub at SBGL. Asia has Hubs at RJTT, VTBS and ZBAA. Africa/Middle East has a hub at OMDB and last but by no means least Australia YSSY. Each Region has an Ops Manager apart from S America where one will be appointed soon. We hope that this will attract a more world based pilot roster.

We have also introduced a more modern and up to date website and changed the look of our forum. We still are a relaxed airline and as we understand real life has a habit of getting in the way of our beloved hobby, so all we ask is you fly whenever you can. The tour database has been cleared and our OP’s Managers will be introducing some new tours.

We have 3 flight tracking systems. We use IPS for online Vatsim flights which detects your flight automatically and files a pirep for you, and for off line flights we use smartCARS and our own KACARS.

The fleet has been nearly all repainted in our new livery with just some aircraft still to be done.we have also introduced a new professional looking Logo.

The future looks bright for Caal Airways and as always we are looking for pilots to join our happy family.

Major schedule update for Ghana’s first virtual airline

Today, Accra based Golden Ghana VA (ICAO: GOG) has announced a major schedule update. These are the changes:

1. More flights from/to Europe Additionally to the existing destinations London (Heathrow and Gatwick) and Frankfurt, Golden Ghana VA now also serves Amsterdam, Istanbul and Vienna. This decision is based on the excellent VATSIM traffic numbers for these airports.

2. Dubai replaces Riad
Golden Ghana VA is now daily flying from/to Dubai. The hitherto existing Airbus A330 route to Riad has been removed.

3. More Boeing 777 flights
The new destinations Amsterdam, Vienna and Dubai are all served by newly acquired Boeing 777. Main reason is that both for Microsoft Flight Simulator as for X-Plane, there are excellent addons available for this aircraft type which currently seem to be most popular for long range flights. Also the destination Nairobi is now served by a Boeing 777 and not anymore by a Boeing 787.

4. Major schedule clean-up
Routes and aircraft with only little demand by the pilots have been removed, keeping the schedule clean and clear.

About Golden Ghana VA:
Golden Ghana Virtual Airlines is Ghana’s first virtual airline. It was founded Christmas 2011 and currently has 46 pilots. The VA operates scheduled passenger flights as well as cargo charter flights. It is associated with Vatsim Central Africa Division (VATCAF) and supported by the real world Aviation Club Ghana (ACG).

May 2014 will see the launch of services to five new destinations in Europe and North America. Flights to Ibiza, Lanzarote, Dalaman, Las Vegas and Cancun are expected to be launched later this year from Glasgow and Manchester.

London/Gatwick Hub Announced
Last year, freshJet asked the public to decide where their new UK base should be located, to which the majority responded London/Gatwick. It has since been decided that freshJet will establish a new base there in May 2014. Initially, 2 Airbus A320s will be based at Gatwick, and will operate to Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester, Amsterdam, Alicante, Palma, Malaga and Tenerife South. Long-haul operations are expected to begin in July, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft to Orlando.

Belfast International Hub to Close
Despite its initial success, our Belfast base has declined rapidly in recent years and has since become our smallest hub, with only one aircraft based there. freshJet management have concluded that the Belfast hub will be officially closed in May 2014. Belfast will however continue to be served from other UK bases on domestic services, which remain popular at Belfast.

Additional Airbus A320 Order
Last month we placed an order for an additional 3 Airbus A320 aircraft, bringing the total A320 family fleet size to 11. The aircraft will be deployed alongside the existing fleet on routes from the UK to a variety of destinations.

In addition, we expect to take delivery of our second A330 prior to the S14 season.

A recent increase in activity at Invictajet – coupled with the closure of Ryanair Virtual – has assisted the airline in introducing new services from the London airport.

The anglo-slovak carrier – with bases already at London Luton and Bratislava International – have announced their intention to begin operations from Stansted, in the hope of capitalising on the closure of a popular and active VA that was previously based at the airport. Initially, only a single leased Boeing 737-800 will operate to a number of winter ski and winter sun destinations until at least march next year, when further talks will take place with the airport authority.

A press release by the airline confirmed :

We want to assist passengers that have been effected by the closure of the busiest VA at Stansted.

With fantastic transport links and more than suitable ground services in place, this seemed like the perfect chance to begin operations and ensure the continuation of previous services throughout Europe as well as introduce some of our own destinations.

It is expected the airline will now begin a vigorous recruitment drive, seeking type rated pilots with experience on the 737-800 series :

With the recent closing, we are sure there is a surplus of type rated flight crew looking for work, we are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for crews to continue to stay based at London Stansted and not have to move elsewhere. Additionally our Luton base will be offered to flight crew who request it.

Invictajet incorporates the VAFS utility, which includes built in flight logging and a wide variety of data relating to flight progress, success and flight crew capability. This is similar to previous loggers that other VAs use, so we expect no major problems for flight crews transitioning to our flight operations if they are successful with their application.

Of course part of VAFS is the details of just how realistic and successful Invictajet could be in the real-world, particularly financially and profits wise.

This is why we announce this recruitment drive together with our new lease, We need the flight crew to operate the flights, which will help us financially and perhaps even become one of the more successful VAFS airlines.

Equally important is the realisation that we are only basing 1 aircraft at Stansted for now, so flight crew positions are limited.

Invictajet would encourage applicants and the general public to visit our website and have a look around for themselves.

The acquisition is great for SparkJet since both airlines shared a very similar fleet and business model; the most important factor of the acquisition is that it allows SparkJet to expand to markets they had not been able to serve. With the acquisition SparkJet is planning to introduce about 20 frames, at a rate of two per month and is looking at new focus cities around the country.
“Initially only five aircraft, a JS41, two A320’s and two B738’s will be joining the fleet after being retrofitted with the SparkJet product” said SparkJet CEO Zeke Elias. We are adding new destinations that we were not able to previously serve due to fleet constraints.

Henderson, NV — Executives at bluWave Airlines who have been analyzing the commercial aviation industry along the West coast since the company’s inception in 2010 are planning shake things up in the Bay Area of California within the next few months. They announced Thursday morning at a press conference in the lobby of the airline’s headquarters in Henderson, NV that they are in talks with The Port of Oakland and The City of San Jose to acquire gates at Oakland and San Jose during by May 30.

“We intentionally left out these two airports during our first and second years of operation because we weren’t sure if they would turn a profit for us,” Connor Levens, President and CEO of the airline, explained to the press. “We want to create an imprint in a region that already has a small market share to begin with so we can let the bluWave name thrive at locations our competitors have overlooked.”

Levens joked when he told the press that he wished him and his team conducted this research prior to the their filing for Chapter 11 last January.

“Personally, I’m excited to witness this addition to our route structure because I have family scattered throughout the Bay Area,” Michael Shaw, Director of Human Resources, joked. “But, in all seriousness, that’s exactly what this addition should do: further connect our customers by offering more direct service to their final destination.”

From Oakland to Seattle:

Flight 340 Departs: 5:00 p.m. Arrives: 7:00 p.m.

From Oakland to Long Beach:

Flight 335 Departs: 2:15 p.m. Arrives: 3:30 p.m.

From San Jose to Long Beach:

Flight 345 Departs: 11:00 a.m. Arrives: 12:00 p.m.

From San Jose to Phoenix:

Flight 450 Departs: 5:00 p.m. Arrives: 6:45 p.m.

The airline announced that it will begin selling tickets for its new routes on Sunday, April 1 at midnight. Each flight will be flown with the airline’s brand new, mainstay 737 aircraft which features mood-lighting in its single-class cabin, enhanced LCD monitors which passengers can customize from the comfort of their seat to enhance inflight entertainment, in addition to inflight Wi-Fi Internet service.

The two executives at the company declined to comment on plans post-expansion to the Bay Area, but stated that they plan to add at least a total of four (4) new destinations by the end of this year.

About bluWave Airlines
