Hawaiian Virtual, an independent virtual airline, has opened its doors to great and exciting island flying.

Hawaiian VA is an exact replica of the real world Hawaiian Airlines with matching routes and fleet. The current fleet is composed of Boeing 717-200 and Boeing 767-300, both in freeware and payware models. Hawaiian VA’s route structure offers hundreds of short, under one hour of flight time, hops to breath-taking scenery of the Hawaiian Islands combined with long-range flights to the westen coast of the US, South Pacific, Australia and more.

Hawaiian VA is part of the interMation alliance, allowing its pilots to fly for partner VA’s while being part of Hawaiian. This partnership will allow Hawaiian pilots access to a wide range of flights and aircrafts around the world.

“Our electronic flight bag, is one of the best featuring ACARS, flight assignments, weather, routing, aircraft history, type ratings and much more, ” a company spokesman said.

On 28th of August 2008, Alaska Airlines officially ceased operations of all MD80′s as they are officially retired and are being replaced by 737-800′s and other 737s. To reflect the real world operations of ASA, Virtual Alaska Airlines at Bourne Aviation will also discontinue the aircraft.

However, the president of Bourne Aviation, Mr. Brandon Farris is planning to work on a “Classic Alaska Airlines” VA which will involve the historic flights and aircraft of the airline.

Says Mr. Farris, “Still for now, we do have a lot of Virtual Airlines in the alliance which offer the McDonnell aircraft.”

Virtual Aerolineas Argentinas, Virtual Delta Airlines and Virtual Scandinavian Airlines together offer MD-80, MD-81, MD-82, MD-83, MD-87 and MD-88.
