Invictajet Eyes Stansted Takeover

A recent increase in activity at Invictajet – coupled with the closure of Ryanair Virtual – has assisted the airline in introducing new services from the London airport.

The anglo-slovak carrier – with bases already at London Luton and Bratislava International – have announced their intention to begin operations from Stansted, in the hope of capitalising on the closure of a popular and active VA that was previously based at the airport. Initially, only a single leased Boeing 737-800 will operate to a number of winter ski and winter sun destinations until at least march next year, when further talks will take place with the airport authority.

A press release by the airline confirmed :

We want to assist passengers that have been effected by the closure of the busiest VA at Stansted.

With fantastic transport links and more than suitable ground services in place, this seemed like the perfect chance to begin operations and ensure the continuation of previous services throughout Europe as well as introduce some of our own destinations.

It is expected the airline will now begin a vigorous recruitment drive, seeking type rated pilots with experience on the 737-800 series :

With the recent closing, we are sure there is a surplus of type rated flight crew looking for work, we are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for crews to continue to stay based at London Stansted and not have to move elsewhere. Additionally our Luton base will be offered to flight crew who request it.

Invictajet incorporates the VAFS utility, which includes built in flight logging and a wide variety of data relating to flight progress, success and flight crew capability. This is similar to previous loggers that other VAs use, so we expect no major problems for flight crews transitioning to our flight operations if they are successful with their application.

Of course part of VAFS is the details of just how realistic and successful Invictajet could be in the real-world, particularly financially and profits wise.

This is why we announce this recruitment drive together with our new lease, We need the flight crew to operate the flights, which will help us financially and perhaps even become one of the more successful VAFS airlines.

Equally important is the realisation that we are only basing 1 aircraft at Stansted for now, so flight crew positions are limited.

Eastern Airlines Virtual Holds the VAFS Number One Ranking for 8 Months Straight

Since the launch of the new VAFS version 5 ACARS client, Eastern Airlines Virtual took the number one spot and has held that position for 8 months straight.

Eastern Airlines Virtual currently has 133 pilots on our roster. Although we may not have as many pilots as other airlines, we have some of the most dedicated pilots. We love to fly!

The rankings from VAFS is a formula that takes numbers from total flights, total flight hours, and the airlines average rating. The rating number rates the pilot’s performance on each flight.

Our pilots have a large number of routes to fly with many modern jetliners from Boeing and Airbus. We also just recently added the Concorde to our fleet.

Eastern Airlines Virtual promotes Dave Mahoney to V.P. of Routes and Fleet Management

Dave has been with Eastern Airlines Virtual for 10 years now and has been our Hub Manager at KDCA. After doing a wonderful job for us as a hub manager, we are confident that he will do well in his new position. Richard Smith did a great job for Eastern in this position since 2008. Richard will be working with Dave for the next few weeks to help him get started. When Dave gets up to speed, we expect new and exciting routes to fly.

As Dave Mahoney steps up to his new position, Robert Smith will be our new Hub Manager at KDCA.

Gabriel Donate has also been promoted to Hub Manager to our Chicago hub.

On June 18th, 2012, Eastern Airlines Virtual surpasses 10 million passengers on VAFS. Since September of 2008 when Eastern adopted the VAFS client for keeping track of our flight information, we have been able to keep track of our milestones. Last month, we reported that we had flown over 250 billion pounds of cargo and now we are glad to report that our 10 millionth passenger has flown with us.

American Airlines VAFS Celebrates Asiana VA Partnership

To celebrate the new codeshare between Asiana and American Airlines, American Airlines is hosting a group flight from Asiana’s hub in Incheon to American Airlines hub in Los Angeles. The group flight is to take place on the VATSIM network. American Airlines VA is searching for new pilots to help increase pilot turnout. Flight is on June 2nd at 1400z departing RKSI at 1430z. American Airlines VAFS is the first AAVA to participate in the VAFS financial system.
