Vortex Airlines – One step closer to vACARS

Vortex has announced that it is one step closer to achieving its new vACARS system in conjunction with Wingnuts Software. Today the airline announced at its new Miami Headquarters that the product has entered the alpha testing stage and is on the way to being fully operational in the next few weeks.

This is just another in a long line of major reforms the airline has undertaken in recent months. Recently it has closed its Dublin and Calgary hubs, and downsized its international freight operations. To replace these closures the airline opened its new European base at Frankfurt and furthered expansion in the Asian market with a new base at Osaka Kansai.

As always it has kept the big shakers we seen when it entered the market first with pilot’s allowed to operate a Fractional Ownership operational within the airline and also its main operations in Passenger and Freight. However there was some recent bad news when it announced the suspension of its Special Operations Division (SOD).

When talking to Co-CEO Eoin Coates he said: “This is just another of the many major steps we endeavor to take to rebuild and re-energize the airline. We hope to be launching with a complete new image in the next few months and by 2013 the airline will be radically changed so watch this space.”

Vortex Virtual Airlines has released 5 new repaints as part of its New Year Fleet Review! It has released a new A319, A320, 737-800, ERJ145 and B1900C repaint to complement its massive fleet based out of Calgary, Miami, Dublin, London, Louisville and Hong Kong. This is only the beginning of a major fleet update set to finish in January 2012. In addition, as part of its fleet review Vortex has added the first 3 of tons of new destinations! Vortex Virtual Launch Event!

Vortex Virtual Airlines will be hosting its official launch event throughout the month of June. Come join us in a month of excitement, challenging flying and massive prizes! Every week we will be giving away 2 prizes to 2 lucky pilots! One prize will be given to a pilot who flies during our themed week and the 2nd given to a pilot who joins us in our Group Flight!

Our first group flights will take place on the 4th and 5th of June. The first flight will take place at 1800Z on Saturday 4th of June leaving Dublin (EIDW) for Knock (EIKN). Our second flight will also take place at 1800Z on Sunday 5th of June from Knock (EIKN) to Reykjavik Keflavik (BIKF). All pilots who fly over this weekend will be entered into the lottery to win ANY Captain Sim aircraft including the unreleased 737 Classic Series!

Week 1 (6th June – 10th June) will be our Vortex Irish Seaplanes week! Fly any of our Irish Seaplanes flights throughout the week to go into the competition for the beautiful CLS DC-10!

Our 2nd weekend of group flights will be on the 11th and 12th of June. The First on Saturday 11th of June will leave Reykjavik (BIKF) at 1900Z and fly to Goose Bay (CYYR). The second will be on Sunday 12th June from Goose Bay (CYYR) to Montreal (CYUL) at 2200Z. Pilots who fly this weekend on these routes will be put into the lottery to win any FS2Crew product!

Week 2 (13th-17th June) will be our Vortex Alaska week! Fly any of our Alaskan Bushplane or commuter routes throughout the week to be entered into the competition for the Flight1 product of your choice including the Flight1 ATR, Level D 767 and iFly 737!

Our 3rd weekend of group flights will be on the 18th and 19th of June. The First on Saturday 18th of June will be from Montreal (CYUL) to Minneapolis-St.Paul (KMSP) at 2300Z. The Second will be on Sunday 19th June from Minneapolis-St.Paul (KMSP) to Calgary (CYYC) at 2300Z. Pilots who fly this weekend as part of our group flights will be entered into a competition for a CLS A340-500/600 series!

Week 3 (20th-24th June) will be our Special Operations Department week! Fly any of our SOD flights from the basic training flights to Air Ambulance to Rig Resupply and everything in between! Pilots who fly an SOD flight during this week will be entered into the competition for ANY Aerosoft product!

Our 4th and 5th weekend of group flights will be on the 25th, 26th of June and the 2nd and 3rd of July. The first will be at 2300Z FROM Calgary (CYYC) to Omaha (KMOA) on the 25th of June. The 2nd will be on 26th of June at 2200Z from Omaha (KOMA) to Louisville (KSDF). The 3rd on the 2nd of July at 2200Z will be from Louisville (KSDF) to Norfolk (KORF) and the final
group flight will be on the 3rd of July at 2200Z from Norfolk (KORF) to Miami (KMIA). Pilots who fly both weekends (25th/26th June and 2nd/3rd July) will be entered into a competition for a $50 voucher for the FlightSim.com store courtesy of Wingnuts Software!

Our final Week (27th June – 1st July) will be our GA week! So sign up for a free Flying Club aircraft and fly any GA flight anywhere in the world to be put into the competition for any free Aerosoft product!
