WestWind Airlines Releases First Ever Newsletter

It is my pleasure to announce the release of the first edition of the “WestWind Monthly”. This is a new newsletter which is designed to help the WestWind pilot and the flight simulation community as a whole with knowing all that is happening within WestWind Airlines for each month. Sections include monthly stats from WestWind, all the news from the month, some aviation humor, upcoming events and contests, a spotlight on the latest screenshot competition winner, the new hires from the month, classifieds with all the available management jobs within WestWind, notes from management, and ads from our hubs. Future editions will have even more!

Russell Reed named VP of Marketing for WestWind Airlines

We are pleased to announce that Russell Reed has been named Vice President of Marketing for WestWind Virtual Airlines. The position of VP of Marketing is a new position at WestWind. Russell is a resident of Moses Lake, WA and is a real world pilot. He joined WestWind in 2006. Russell also serves as the Assistant Hub Manager for the Washington- Dulles Hub.

WestWind Airlines Announces Mike Bergman Hired as EVP of Aircraft

We are pleased to announce that Mike Bergman has been named Executive Vice President of Aircraft for WestWind Virtual Airlines. Mike is also the Executive Vice President of Information Technology at WestWind and a member of the WestWind Executive Committee and will remain in both of those roles. Mike is a resident of Fresno, California. He has been a WestWind pilot since 2007.

The position of EVP of Aircraft became vacant when Kim Stolt, a long-time member of WestWind’s Executive Committee announced his desire to refocus on the Cargo division. Kim will remain in his role as EVP of Cargo Operations and will remain on the Executive Committee.

Westwind Opens New Madrid Hub

Westwind Airlines has just opened its 16th hub worldwide and 4th European hub in Madrid, Spain. This is a big stepping stone for the VAs growth in Europe. The hub has been welcomed by all members of the VA, and it is seen as a great example of the rapid expansion the airline has seen recently.

The opening of the Madrid hub, shows the airlines drive to become succesful in Europe and become as great in Europe as it is in the US. The expansion will add to the airlines 400+ served cities and will also open up new regional destinations as well as destinations in Africa, the Middle East and South America.

This move continues our committment to Europe as a WestWind market. Madrid serves the vacation resorts of southern Europe. The management team is made up of two highly experienced and motivated pilots, Eoin Coates (former Frankfurt Hub Manager) and Scott Cote.
