Electronic Flight Bag released

FSWidgets has released Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) 2004.
Like in the real world, the virtual EFB contains maps, weather
information and manuals.

An EFB is a real-world device that can display a variety of different
functions that in the past were traditionally achieved with paper or
hard copy manuals and charts. It is designed to minimize a pilots
"head-down" time, providing real-time information and handy functions
not normally available in cockpit of the past.

Some of the features include:

  • Moving Map (with XML-calibrated chart support)
  • PDF Approach Charts support (via
    Adobe Reader 7)
  • JPG/BMP Approach Chart support
  • PDF Aircraft Manual support (via
    Adobe Reader 7)
  • HTM Aircraft Reference Material Support
  • Checklists (includes audio
    "heads-up" checklist support)
  • Connects to real-time online
    weather resources (e.g. Doppler Radar)
  • Connects to web-based online
    resources (e.g. METARS, TAF)
  • Displays the NAV log for the
    currently loaded FS2004 flight plan
