New destinations for Air Belgium Connection

Today the regional division of air Belgium, air Belgium
Connection has presented its new routes that will be launched on
January the 1st 2006. These new routes will be made possible thanks to
the reintroduction of the ATR72 in the fleet.

Besides adjusting existing routes and opening new routes from existing
bases the most important change is the opening of a new hub in
Luxembourg.

"We believe, even though it’s a small city and airport, that flying
certain key routes from Luxembourg will be very succesfull since the
current lack of connections towards Luxembourg in the VA world, " CEO
Danny Stess said.

Luxembourg was already served by feeder flights for the Brussels hub
and some leisure destinations in southern europe and will now be
complemented by more business routes.

Here is a small overview of the changes:
 

• The equipment on the Brussels – Amsterdam flights is upgraded to ATR72 and an additional return flight will be flown.
• Brussels – Gothenburg (Göteborg) will be taken over by air Belgium
  Connection from Air Belgium Business and will now be flown 3 times
  daily by a CRJ700 instead of the once daily A319 which will now be used
  to start flights to Algiers in Algeria.
• Antwerp now has a once daily non-stop ATR42 service to Berlin Tempelhof
• From Luxembourg there are 2 new daily flights to London Gatwick in
  Cooperation with Air Lambert flown by ATR72 and 2 new daily flights to
  London City operated by ATR-42 and -72
• Luxembourg also received a connection with Paris Orly, Milan Linate,
  Berlin Tempelhof and Munich all operated by ATR42 or ATR72 aircraft.
