Westernair buys Canada West

Westernair announced today that it has purchased Canada West Airlines from Air Fresno. Air Fresno and Westernair have been in talks over the last couple of weeks and the deal was finally struck on Monday.Canada West has been operating with a skeleton crew for months only utilising one of it’s aircraft, however with a large fleet in storage Westernair plans to bring the airline out of the hangar and back into active operation.

Westernair plan to continue running Canada West under a separate brand and hope to have operations up and running again by early February.

"[Westernair] beat out two other candidates for the new VA. Air Fresno will use the money from the sale to launch it’s executive service sometime in February, " spokesperson Peter McKay of Air Fresno commented on the deal.
