Platinum Airways has revealed its next Destination of the Week theme: Southern Comfort. Over the next five weeks, the Open Skies virtual airline will present a tour of five major Southern hemisphere holiday destinations. Southern Comfort will be served in South America, Africa, the Indian Ocean and two destinations in Asia.
After having spent several weeks in Antarctica, the Alps and the Rocky Mountains, Platinum Airways is about to pay tribute to the Southern hemisphere’s summer. Under its new theme Southern Comfort, the Open Skies virtual airline will be paying a leisurely visit to five major holiday destinations spread over Latin America, Africa, the Indian Ocean and Asia. The series kicks off with Brazil’s Florianopolis and its forty something beaches and prime surfing. From the best place to live in Brazil, we fly to South Africa’s Mother City, Cape Town, with Table Mountain and Table Bay, its beaches and its vineyards. The third Southern Comfort is served in Port Louis, the capital of the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, home to some of the world’s most relaxing beach resorts. Round number four takes us to Thailand’s Phuket Island, with a wonderful Ocean approach. Southern Comfort concludes on Bali, the recipient of multiple global tourism awards.
To those virtual pilots who prefer more of a challenge, Platinum Airways’ military division may have a rewarding experience in store. Platinum Airways arguably became the first virtual airline to have unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in its hangar. In addition, a special military mission has been designed for the Predator, consisting of UAV drugs smuggling and illegal immigration patrols along the US-Canadian border in Mohawk territory.
About Platinum Airways:
Keen to deliver on its mission to keep the fun in the hobby, Platinum Airways is probably the only virtual airline to combine an Open Skies policy, allowing its pilots to fly any mission of their choice with the aircraft of their choice at the time of their choice, with a strategic hub network. The carefully selected hubs, Newark (KEWR), Dallas-Fort Worth (KDFW), Vancouver (CYVR), Perth (YPPH) and Brussels (EBBR), should be attractive to a global membership. In addition, Platinum Airways offers its pilots a Destination of the Week and Relief and Military Missions. Sticking to the KISS principle (Keep It Straight and Simple), Platinum Airways hosts an active forum and a screenshot of the week competition, with the winner providing the main picture on its home page for the next week.
