Fly UK officially launches low cost subsidary Fly2

On Saturday 29th April 2006, Fly UK Virtual Airways are pleased to announce that we will be entering the era of the low cost revolution, officially commencing the operations of Fly2, FlyUK’s very own low cost subsidiary airline, from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.

"From Saturday, Fly2 routes will be added to our active route network, pilots holding the rank of Class C First Officer or above will be able to file pireps for Fly2 routes, " CEO Chris Sutcliffe said.

"Fly2 commences operations using brand new, Boeing 737-700 aircraft in our fresh, stunning new Fly2 livery. We are initially operating to 12 of the most popular European getaway destinations from Liverpool, explore Mallorca’s cosmopolitan capital Palma, to the sun soaked Spanish Costa’s to the romance capital of the world, Paris, we’re sure you’ll find somewhere you want to Fly2!"

As well as operations, the airline will also launch the Fly2 webpage which is currently under construction but will be accessed via www.fly2.flyukva.com.

The Fly2 aircraft will be available to download early Saturday morning from the Fly UK website. Repaints include a PMDG as well as a freeware version.

Mr. Sutcliffe comments "This is a very exciting time for both staff & pilots at Fly UK, like in real life, low cost airlines have revolutionised the aviation industry and the way we travel, we are now pleased to introduce low cost operations to Fly UK, and try to bring in more realism to the VA, by reflecting more real world airline operations to our VA operations."

Fly2 IVAO Launch Event
To celebrate this exciting milestone in the history of Fly UK, the airline will be hosting an IVAO event this Saturday at 7PM.

"We are going to fly flight FL202A which takes us to the sun to the historical city of Barcelona. Barcelona is the Catalan capital with glorious architecture such as La Sagrada Familia. Construction began in 1883 and is still underway. After the flight we can enjoy a stroll down La Rambla and celebrate some more with a good meal and a drink or two. ATC coverage is expected all the way and we ask all pilots to fly the new Fly2 aircraft (however Fly2 is not on the IVAo MTL yet)," Mr. Sutcliffe said.
