Platinum Airways Ships Cargo!

Platinum Airways, the very virtual Open Skies airline, will ship Cargo! to the main hubs of the five leading global courier service providers over the next five weeks. Its latest Destination of the Week theme Cargo! will take pilots to some of the world’s most important freight hubs in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Cargo! will focus on the leading global courier service providers and their main hubs. The series will kick off with DHL and its main hub, Halle-Leipzig (EDDP). Next on the list is UPS and its main hub Louisville – KSDF. The third Cargo! destination will be FedEx’ Memphis – KMEM. For the fourth leg, we’ll return to Europe, to TNT’s main hub of Liège – EBLG. We conclude the series with Aramex, which is listed in Dubai – OMDB. Pilots will be able to fly the DOTW’s with the aircraft of their choice. However, Platinum Airways’ fleet includes both freeware and payware liveries for the B747F.

Cargo! pilots will be assisted with navigational charts, links to scenery files and other aids. Scenery links include X-Plane downloadable files where available. Pilots visiting the current DOTW receive a 5% bonus. Past DOTW’s remain available to pilots through an archive system.

About Platinum Airways:

Keen to deliver on its mission to keep the fun in the hobby, Platinum Airways is probably the only virtual airline to combine an Open Skies policy, allowing its pilots to fly any mission of their choice with the aircraft of their choice at the time of their choice, with a strategic hub network. The carefully selected hubs, Newark (KEWR), Dallas-Fort Worth (KDFW), Vancouver (CYVR), Perth (YPPH) and Brussels (EBBR), should be attractive to a global membership. In addition, Platinum Airways offers its pilots a Destination of the Week and Relief and Military Missions. Sticking to the KISS principle (Keep It Straight and Simple), Platinum Airways hosts an active forum and a screenshot of the week competition, with the winner providing the main picture on its home page for the next week.
