Connect Airlines Receives DC-10

UK based Connect Airlines has decided to expand their fleet with DC-10 aircraft, which shall be used for short haul flights during the summer season of 2006. 

Though the DC-10 aircraft are old and have had their time in the skies, there are still many airlines across the globe that use this large aircraft.

"We hope that this aircraft will have a good season with us, and if this aircraft proves to be popular we will keep her on throughout the winter season until we see it time to lease or retire her from our fleet , " a spokesperson said.

At the un-veiling of this aircraft there were many of Connect Airlines pilots and aviation enthusiasts there to welcome the new aircraft in to the Connect fleet.
A reporter from 'Eye In The Sky' magazine said "It is fantastic that this aircraft is in a virtual airlines fleet, there are very few virtual airlines that operate this aircraft out there, and it is great to see that Connect is keeping this beautiful aircraft in operation."

The CEO of Connect Airlines said "Though this aircraft stopped being manufactured many years ago there are still many airlines that operate this aircraft, and as the summer season is approaching, pilot numbers are increasing and passenger numbers are doubling."

"We needed a large aircraft to operate the summer routes, so after a long discussion with members of the management team it was decided that we would bring this aircraft back to life in the virtual airline world."
