Air Belgium acquires 30% stake in ?ireflyer

London based Euroflyer Group and Antwerp based Air Belgium
Group announce today that Air Belgium group has purchased a 30% stake
in Éireflyer, the Irish division of Euroflyer, that will become
effective on the 1st October 2005. This deal will see two Air Belgium
Aircraft transferred to the Éireflyer fleet, bringing the total fleet
number to seven aircraft.

Éireflyer is the Irish division of Euroflyer Airways, a successful
virtual airline based out of London Heathrow airport. Éireflyer can
trace its roots back to January 2004 when it was launched under the
name of Ireland Direct. In June 2005 Ireland Direct was brought out by
Euroflyer Airways Ltd. Many of Ireland Directs assets were absorbed
into Euroflyer, however some remained in Dublin to form the new
airline. Éireflyer has a fleet of four Airbus A319 aircraft and a
single Airbus A321 to serve its eight destinations across Europe.

Éireflyer will further enlarge it’s network by adding Brussels
and  Paris Charles de Gaulle to it, the Brussels flights beeing
operated by Air Belgium under a code-sharing agreement. In the future
more destinations will be added to the route network as Éireflyer will
grow as it’s planned that there will be some A320′s added to the fleet
during the course of 2006.
