Despite the departure delay at Santa
Monica due to steady inbound traffic, the Executive Fleet Services 9/11
event was a great success.
Last night at 6 pm Pacific Time, the first Executive
Fleet pilot took off from Santa Monica. Execfleet 75, Steve Jones, also
CEO of the Executive Fleet Services soared to Half Moon Bay along with
other Executive Fleet members and GA pilots.
Over 15 general aviation aircrafts flew north along
the Californian shoreline in honor of the 9/11 victims. “It was just
great to see all of us flying less then a couple miles from one
another.” said Executive Fleet Chief Pilot Daren Lahey. “Everyone has a
different style of flying and there where those who took an ocean
deviation to avoid airspace, others who took a short inland hop
instead, to then meet again in the San Francisco Bay”.
Many Air Traffic Controllers from ZLA ARTCC and ZOA ARTCC lent their
expertise to the pilots, providing them with top notch services while
airborne.
"EFS wishes to thank all those who helped make this event possible.
Special thanks go out to the outstanding ARTCC’s, the VA Flash for
promoting the event, and Half Moon Aviation for passing the word onto
its pilots as well, " Chad Black, Promotions & Public Relations
Manager for Executive Fleet said.
