Today the air Belgium management announced that it will
commence a second daily flight on the popular Brussels – New York JFK
connection.
Contrary to the existing flight, flying in the morning from Brussels to
New York and in the afternoon from NY to Brussels, the new flight will
depart in the evening in Brussels and NY in the morning, thus offering
more flexibility for passengers travelling between the 2 cities.
"This move is a very important one for the Belgian travel sector as
this will be the first evening BRU-NY and morning NY-BRU flight after
the bankrupty of Sabena and the discontinuation of their popular
evening flights, " said CEO Danny Stes.
The first flight will be flown on Friday 11 November 2005 and will
operate daily from then on according to the following schedule:
AJ5900 Brussels 21h00 New York JFK 22h30
AJ5901 New York JFK 07h30 Brussels 19h00
The flight will be flown by a Boeing 767-300ER wetleased from the newly
found British charter airline Air Atlantic and will fly in air Belgium
colors and Cabin Crew but with Air Atlantic cockpit crew.
"Because this is an older aircraft it is not equipped with PTV’s and
will only offer seats in Diamond and Discovery class while Sapphire and
Premium Discovery wont be offered on these flights, " Mr Stes said.
