Devonair reports the purchase allowed almost double capacity on some of their more popular routes, but also launch services out of the Embraer 170′s range.
The delivery of the Airbus aircrafts also allowed the airline to re-organize its Embraer fleet, to best serve its markets. "We now offer high frequencies to both domestic and European destinations, giving our passengers great flexibility when they make their travel plans. However, some routes would not have been suited to the A319, so the Embraer fits the bill perfectly," Simmonds continued.
In other news, Devonair has begin seeking a long haul aircraft to initially launch ad-hoc charter services from their Exeter base, with the vision of launching a scheduled long haul program in the near future.
