Alaska Virtual will soon the be the newest member of the virtual community, as plans were announced for the new carrier by CEO Jonathan Thurston.
The new airline will begin it’s operations out of 3 hubs, Anchorage, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Alaska Virtual plans to operate on a MD80 and several Boeing 737′s, including the 200, 400, 700, 800, and 900 series aircraft, however it’s regional air carrier Horizon Virtual will operate using the CRJ-700 Q400 and Q200 aircraft. "I am very proud of our progress, and can guarantee we will be one of the best VAs on the net," noted CEO and founder Jonathan Thurston.
Alaska Virtual will also be offering it’s pilots an automated PIREP system, fleet department, events department, and lively forum. However plans are in the works to include FSACARS, a teamspeak server, and the airlines own E-Zine.
Alaska Virtual has not yet announced date for it’s opening, however urges potential members to visit it’s website, and track it’s progress to completion.
