On the 20th August Caal Airways will be 2 years old. We will be holding an event using our newest hub EIDW and one of our original hubs EGSS. This event will be on Vatsim and pilots are requested to book their slot in the events section of the website. Pilots who do not fly online are also most welcome to join us on the Teamspeak Server and fly offline using Kacars. A schedule will be added for each offline pilot. All pilots flying online can log onto Vatsim using their NIR ID. Any questions please feel to contact me or your Ops Manager.
We experienced much improvement to our front-end product in the month of May. This month’s highlights include an exclusive partnership with REX Game Studios and the release of vUAL 2.0 (a new ACARS and website platform). With these upgrades we are making several improvements and coordinating with our pilots for an optimized virtual experience. Our efforts as we look forward are to best suit our pilots needs and to create a unique and engaging environment.
vUnited 2.0 www.virtualua.org
Our staff team took the time to sit down and rethink our website/ACARS platform in order to renovate and create a modern design while improving usability. Please find the linked feature article on the new website and ACARS (http://www.virtualua.org/contrails/Special%20Edition%20(Final).pdf). This new site will bring our members more eye-candy and functionality for all stages of virtual aviation from preflight to filing your PIREPS.
Partnerships
The cornerstone of vUnited’s values is creating a strong relationship with other developers and organizations in the community. We would like to thank our numerous partners and their efforts to help benefit both of our organizations! This month vUnited rolled out a new partnership with REX Game Studios. This new agreement will give our pilots access to company discounts through the vUnited Pilot Shop. We are also continuing to work towards ATO status with VATSIM upon the upcoming release of our Training Center.

Caal Airways has had a great March. The first of March seen the launch of its new website. An easy to navigate and easy on the eye site that has gone down well with it’s pilots. There has also been 6 new pilots join the VA and they have starting logging pireps immediately. We also had the best month for logged flights since our formation back in August 2011.

Caal Airways has started the new year well. The VA was downsized slightly closing 2 hubs in the USA and 1 hub in S Africa. These hubs were not proving popular so we came to a decision to concentrate on our hubs that were popular. We have seen a few new pilots joining our ranks which is great to see and a steady amount of pireps being filed.

October was a great month for Caal Airways again. The Va continues to grow from strength to strength. The biggest news is that Caal has been granted official ATO status at Vatsim and is now allowed to train, examine and upgrade pilots to P1 Status. This will be open to anyone who wishes although pilots will need to join Caal to be able to access the material.
All our news can be seen in our monthly magazine which can be found at http://www.caalair.com/Newsletter_November_2012.pdf
