November 2008, Skybus VA announced a deal with Airbus to buy 65 of its Airbus A319 aircraft. The order carried an estimated retail price of $3.7 billion. Once again, February 2009, the ‘Bus’ will be back in Columbus, as the former start-up budget carrier “Skybus Airlines” will commence service, after ceasing operations April 5, 2008.
Carrying passengers from Columbus, OH, to a handful of cities such as Burbank, CA; Richmond, VA; and Kansas City, MO, and St. Augustine Fl., Skybus Airlines is going to be designed in several different ways to improve new and upcoming pilots, so they can take their knowledge to go bigger and better.
Says CEO Justin, “We will have the ability to teach and direct our future pilots to a whole new era of the VA. One way we are going to make this an effective VA is by starting out by doing little things such as short-haul routes, no-frills service, standardized fleet (Airbus 319), Flight Training courses and the use of Teamspeak and VAFS (Virtual Airline Financial Systems Pilot Flight Following Client).”
