With a 20 minutes trip from Tamale/DGLE to Yendi/DGLY, Golden Ghana Virtual Airlines today completed it’s 100th flight. Second Officer Mr. Kalle Hacker performed a smooth landing with his Beech Baron on the small runway at Yendi in the northern part of Ghana. The flight was operated as GOG361.
Golden Ghana Virtual Airlines is Ghana’s first virtual airline. It was founded christmas 2011 and currently has 29 pilots. The VA operates scheduled passenger flights as well as cargo and vintage charter flights. It is associated with Vatsim Central Africa Division (VATCAF) and supported by the real world Aviation Club Ghana (ACG).

The Hawaii Express, www.thehawaiiexpress.com, recently celebrated a monumental milestone. On Thursday, October 10th, a DC-10 piloted by technician John King completed The Hawaii Express’ 100th logged hour since opening September 1st. Captain King was not aware of this milestone until the evening after he logged the flight when he was notified by the airlines accountant.
While 100 hours may not seem like much, especially when logged over a month and a half, take into account that the airline only has half a dozen active pilots. “I think this is actually a pretty important event” John later stated in an email to the airlines CEO, “I’m happy the first milestone has my name on it”. Bruno, the president says “This is a true reward of our effort in order to give new features and innovations to our pilots”.
