LegionAir 2015 Update

LegionAir

LegionAir has some good news for 2015. We have a new flight tracking system installed for better tracking of your flight. Also a new search engine to help pilots find flights easier!

Also we have our cargo operation that has taken some time in getting up and running but its here. We have 3 cargo hubs KOAK, KMIA, and PANC. We have a vast amount of routes from each hub. Also we have the Cargo Ops module up with 3 airports that flights are based out of which is VHHH, EDDF, and OMDB. This will allow you pilots to get some flights all over the world and in the USA at random.

This year we have changed around our regional fleet. It is LegionAir Connect. The fleet at the moment consists of the E175, Dash 8 400. In the coming time we will add the CRJ 200, 700, 900 for flights.

Late last year we reach an agreement with GB Airlines to code share routes. We are hoping that 2015 will give us a greater opportunity to get more routes threw code sharing all over the world.

Air-Source Virtual Pilot Union Launches Audit

AirSourceThe recent Global Financial Crisis hit airlines hard and although oil prices have reduced lately, the airlines have focused on flight durations across all aircraft within their respective fleets. In particular, the airlines have complained about slow flights being flown by AirSource and are threatening to take action with AirSource. Even though this is not a widespread problem, “slow flights” have seen a troubling growth trend. The consequences of this continuing are unimaginable.

As a result AirSource is taking positive action to rectify this trend. The Executive Management Team (EMT) has launched a General Audit of AirSource pilot logbooks to identify where the “slow flight” problems have been occurring, and to satisfy the airlines that AirSource is operating in the manner it should be and in accordance with the provisions contained within the AirSource Employee Manual. A post-audit report will be published at the conclusion of the study.

PlatinumWhiteMagic

Platinum Airways, the Open Skies virtual airline, will start the 2015 Destination of the Week series with a challenging theme. White Magic takes its pilots to four extremely difficult approaches of ski resort airports.

It has become a Platinum Airways custom to visit ski related airports in January. 2015 is no different, and the Open Skies virtual airline announces its new DOTW theme: White Magic. The series revisits four extremely challenging airports that are a gateway to prime mountain ski resorts on both sides of the Atlantic. White Magic kicks off with Sion (LSGS) – the Swiss Cat C airport that includes a 6 degree approach. The second destination is Aspen, CO (KASE): a one-way in and one-way out airport with difficult terrain and wind conditions. Magic White destination number 3 is Courchevel (LFLJ) in the French Alps with its short and sloped runway. We end White Magic at Glenwood Springs, CO (KGWS), another Rocky Mountains airport with high altitude, difficult terrain and short runway issues.
