It’s a new year here at Canadian Xpress® and as normal we are busier than ever. This month we have been contracted out by the Ministry of the Environment to perform aerial surveys and to pick up research equipment from around Algonquin Park.
Leaving Ottawa you will have 4 aerial surveyors and their equipment on board and at each stop along the way you will pick up 500lbs of research equipment. Due to the size of these airports and limited services, fuel and overnight services are only available in North Bay.
Join Canadian Xpress today in order to participate as there are some great prizes to be won including Continue reading

Salt Lake City, Utah, – Atlantic Skies, the oldest continuously operational virtual airline on the internet, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on January 4th, 2013. It was on that date in 1993 that Andrew Phillips flew the first route for something he called “Atlantic Skies Airlines”.
Atlantic Skies pushed the Virtual Airline envelope by introducing the first automated web-based pilot reporting system (AAMS – 1999).
This was followed by the first automated, desktop ACARS system (AACARS – 2002) that integrated with Flight Simulator using FSUIPC to report directly to the corporate server.
For over two decades this virtual airline has evolved and forced changes in the industry, and has continued to fly with extraordinary success.
Though many have come and gone, this is one VA that will be around for another twenty years – if past history has anything to do with it.

New York, NY – While almost wrapping up one of the most successful years to date, CEO Petey Shivery said “We are looking forward to an even better year, a year filled with development, service, and improvement all for our pilots”. There are a lot of virtual airlines out there but we try to make this one special. We offer programs and services that are unheard of in the virtual world.
When, we look at our Technology Headquarters in Edmonton, AL. Our Chief Technology Officer Dimitri, is always working on the latest software for our pilots to use. His goal is to mix Efficiency and Design to make the job of the pilots much easier when flying. We don’t want you to worry about anything else, besides landing your plane. Dimitri has improved “In-Flight-Entertainment” system, that can make a four hour plane ride seem like 4 minutes. We would like to thank Dimitri for all the hard work in 2012 and can’t wait to see what happens in 2013.
Now when looking towards the new year, make sure you are with an organization that understands the true potential of it’s pilots. At Virtual Blue, there is never a day where we don’t think about our wonderful pilots. Think about, because we do!

Honouring a tradition, Platinum Airways’ Destination of the Week will be visiting ski country in January. In a series called On Golden Slopes, the very virtual Open Skies airline will touch down at four special runways in the heart of winter sport country.
On Golden Slopes builds on Platinum Airways’ tradition to visit ski resort destinations during the month of January. This year’s destinations are no exception. On Golden Slopes kicks off with a visit to St Johann in Tirol (LOIJ), a short runway airfield near Austria’s famous Kitzbühel region, where the world’s most challenging downhill race will be run at the Hahnenkamm on 26 January. The series continues at the other side of the Atlantic, with the private Buckhorn Ranch Airport (0CO2) near Crested Butte, CO, a former coal mining town now called the last great Colorado ski town. The third Golden Slope area of St Moritz, Switzerland is near one of Europe’s most challenging airfields: Samedan or Engadin Airport (LSZS). On Golden Slopes concludes with Heber City Municipal Airport or Russ McDonald Field (36U), close to Utah’s skiing country.

Today, Golden Ghana VA released a special schedule to celebrate it’s first birthday. The new timetable features seven cities between Accra/Ghana and Yaounde/Cameroon. Seen from above, the flights between these cities will draw a big “G” on the map of Western Africa.
To get an idea about the new routes, you might like to visit http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=DGAA-DNAA-DNPO-FPST-FOOL-FKKD-FGSL-FKYS&MS=wls&DU=nm&SG=400&SU=kts
The flights will be performed with two additional aircraft in the GOG fleet: In the morning at 0600 UTC, a Boeing 737-800 departs at Accra to the East, while at the same time a Bombardier Canadair CRJ200 starts from Yaounde to the West. In the evening, both aircraft will return to their origin.
Both aircraft are painted in a new GOG Birthday livery created by Mr. Ingo Patzke. This livery is available for addons to Flight Simulator 9, Flight Simulator X and X-Plane. The screenshot shows the EADT x737 for X-Plane at the airport of Accra.
