Canadian Xpress November Fly-In: Paro, Bhutan
Paro Airport is the only international airport in Bhutan. The airport is located 3.7 mi from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu at an elevation of 7,300 ft. With surrounding peaks as high as 18,000 ft it is considered one of the world’s most challenging airports and as of October 2009, only eight pilots in the world are certified to land at the airport. Flights at Paro are allowed under visual meteorological conditions only and are restricted to daylight hours from sunrise to sunset.

Caal Airways Monthly Report for October 2012
October was a great month for Caal Airways again. The Va continues to grow from strength to strength. The biggest news is that Caal has been granted official ATO status at Vatsim and is now allowed to train, examine and upgrade pilots to P1 Status. This will be open to anyone who wishes although pilots will need to join Caal to be able to access the material.

Eastern Airlines Virtual announces Wonder Winterland(ings) Tour
With the winter months starting to approach us, Eastern Airlines Virtual has developed the Wonder Winterland(ings) tour to challenge our pilots in less than desirable conditions. This tour contains 18 flights starting in Alaska and hitting many airports along the northern United States. The tour will open to our pilots on November 22nd and should prove to be very fun.
Our pilots at Eastern has many tours and many routes to fly. Also we have many modern aircraft in our hangar with various Eastern Airline liveries. All are free to our pilots.

Platinum Airways Visits Manufacturers’ Assembly Halls, Organizes Relief Missions Following Hurricane Sandy
Platinum Airways, the very virtual Open Skies airline, has announced its new Destination of the Week theme: Assembly Hall. The series will visit the four leading jet passenger aircraft manufacturers and will take Platinum Airways’ pilots to the main airfield that is used by Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier and Embraer to test their latest aircraft and future models. And Platinum Airways has also responded to Hurricane Sandy by setting up several Relief flight destinations.
Assembly Hall will offer Platinum Airways pilots a look at past and future aircraft built by the leading passenger jet manufacturers. Boeing has two test flight airfields: KBFI and KPAE. Boeing Field is only used for B737 test flights, so we thought that Paine Field was the better choice, with assembly of all 747’s, 767’s, 777’s and 787’s. For Airbus, we’re heading to Toulouse (LFBO), where we will focus on all Airbus models, including the A350. CYMX takes us to Bombardier’s main assembly plant at Mirabel, where the Canadian manufacturer builds the CRJ-series and the C-Series, scheduled for its first delivery by the end of next year.
