SnapJet Airlines End of 2010 Announcements

San Jose CA (AP) – SnapJet Airlines (SJA) executives held their first press conference since the summer today in San Jose announcing several new things at SnapJet. Chief Executive Officer Ryan Parry was excited to announce the success of the recently started service to Hawaii featuring their three used Boeing 757 jets, calling it “a gamble that is paying off”. He went on to acknowledge SnapJets entrance into the Global One Alliance which took place in October.

SnapJet Airlines has reached agreements with Airbus to purchase ten Airbus A321 aircraft that will be powered by IAE V2500 engines just like their A319 and A320. “The A321 will offer us a chance to fly more passengers on high density routes, as well as open up vacation destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. Platinum Airways Introduces Open Skies Concept to Virtual Airlines

Platinum Airways (www.platinumairways.org) has become the first virtual airline to liberate and liberalise the airways by introducing Open Skies. In a radical breakaway from traditional virtual airlines, Platinum Airways is allowing its pilots to fly any mission of their choice in addition to operating its hub network.

From its launch in July 2010, Platinum Airways made it clear that it was a very virtual airline that was high in content and low on rules. Originally, it operated out of four hubs (Dallas-Ft Worth, Vancouver, Perth and Brussels). However, the majority of the fifty plus pilots who joined within the first few months indicated that they were in favour of expanding the schedule of more than 800 flights. Platinum Airways management responded by implementing a full Open Skies policy. Continue reading

Website Status and Site Rebranding

I wanted to take the time to thank all who have wished me well on my surgery in comments and all the emails I have received.  They were definitely appreciated and helped keep my spirits high during my recovery.  My recovery took longer than anticipated but my arm is much better. :)   Thanks to everyone for their patience and support during my downtime..

Now for the real news of the day!  As you can see from the logo above, VAFlash will be undergoing a transformation of sorts.  The whole site will be redesigned and launched within a couple/few weeks.  I will also be expanding the VaFlash staff from one to many!  In addition to expanding beyond a one man shop, we will also be expanding VAFlash to include hardware and software reviews, editorials, and basically everything and anything related to Flight Simulation.  This has been in the plans for quite some time but was delayed due to multiple reasons.

Look for more information to come within the following days and weeks! :)

Announcing the USA Virtual Air Mobility Command

USAvAMC was founded in April of 2009 as Virtual Military Airlift Command. But do to a conflict with the acronym being used by someone else we decided to restructure the whole program.

If you enjoy flying USAF aircraft and your looking for a program which is not burden with structure, training, check rides and VATSIM requirement then stop by and check us out. It’s all about fun, not a part time job.
