freshJet has welcomed aboard it’s new Training Manager Andrew Smith. Andrew will help to develop the freshJet Pilot Training Programme which will train new and existing pilots on our Airbus A320 family fleet.
A current PPL student, Andrew also has fixed-base A320 simulator experience as well as a wide knowledge on the aircraft and plenty of experience on it in flight sim.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed Training Manager here at freshJet. I can?t wait to get started and contribute to what is already a successful airline. The prospect of working in the management is really exciting and one that I take on board with great pride. To mark the 1st birthday of Caal Airways we will fly from Gatwick-Glasgow-Aldergrove on Vatsim.The schedules that need to be used are NIR1001 and NIR1011. Pilots that do not fly online can also join in using our teamspeak server. The event will take place on the 17/08/12 starting at 1800 local Uk Time. I would encourage as many pilots to attend to celebrate our first year of operations. If enough interest is shown I will be able to request full ATC for us. So another month gets to an end. Like last month July 2012 has been noted to be the busiest month for Pakistan International Airlines Simulation Virtual Group. Many new pilots have been seen joining the virtual airline.This month our VA Central position is 123. This month our members recorded a total of 16 PIREPs. This month PIAS Virtual has received a total of 11 new pilots which is a great improvement last month we had received a total of only 8 pilots. Congratulations to all pilots and staff for achieving this.
We would also like to welcome the SHAHEEN AIR INTERNATIONAL AIRBUS A330-300 VQ-BCW to our virtual airlines fleet. Special Event for the welcoming of the new bird is upcoming as soon as we get ready with the repaint for it.
Coming to the Pilot of the month award , For July 2012 the pilot of the month award goes to Ayaz Jamail (PIA11042) who recorded the most hours (4 Hours) & miles flown (1001 Miles). this month as well as a total of 4 virtual flights. He has shown keen interest in the flying operations of PIAS Virtual and has hopefully enjoyed his virtual career with us. He has been awarded 50 bonus hours.

On July 31st, right on time at 6:10pm local time, Albuquerque (0000Z), Era America Airlines was off the ground. The first flight was flown from Albuquerque International Sunport to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in a Boeing 737-900, fully loaded with 172 passengers. The flight took 3 hours and 25 minutes, flown at a speed of mach 0.75 (510 ground speed), and a cruising altitude of 35,000 feet (FL350). With this flight completed it is fair to say that Era America Airlines is a new airline company in the sky, providing the best customer service, and making flying the way it was meant to be.
