bluWave to Expand in the Bay Area

Henderson, NV — Executives at bluWave Airlines who have been analyzing the commercial aviation industry along the West coast since the company’s inception in 2010 are planning shake things up in the Bay Area of California within the next few months. They announced Thursday morning at a press conference in the lobby of the airline’s headquarters in Henderson, NV that they are in talks with The Port of Oakland and The City of San Jose to acquire gates at Oakland and San Jose during by May 30.

“We intentionally left out these two airports during our first and second years of operation because we weren’t sure if they would turn a profit for us,” Connor Levens, President and CEO of the airline, explained to the press. “We want to create an imprint in a region that already has a small market share to begin with so we can let the bluWave name thrive at locations our competitors have overlooked.”

Levens joked when he told the press that he wished him and his team conducted this research prior to the their filing for Chapter 11 last January.

“Personally, I’m excited to witness this addition to our route structure because I have family scattered throughout the Bay Area,” Michael Shaw, Director of Human Resources, joked. “But, in all seriousness, that’s exactly what this addition should do: further connect our customers by offering more direct service to their final destination.”

vStrategic Air Mobility Command Celebrates 3 Years of Operations

Virtual SAC will celebrate its third anniversary on April 10th. Recently we merged two sites, Virtual Air Mobility Command & Virtual Strategic Air Command to form our present program. Originally it was our intent to let these programs stand alone until we wound up bouncing between to sites with a structural differences that created a lot of confusion.

So we returned to out roots as a cargo VA wrapped in Air Force skins.”Trash Haulers” if it fits in the doors, we haul it anywhere in the world. There is no heavy structure or restrictions to what and where you fly as we allow you the pilot in our basic mode to create his/hers own routes.

Opportunities not only in rank progression, but ribbons, medals, badges and bonus hours. You can fly as lite as the L19 through the C-17, not to mention the F-14, 16 and a host of other Air National Guard assets. Its about having fun. Its all about flying. No standing at attention or saluting. So stop by take a look around, we left all the tabs open to the public.

Platinum Airways Takes Trip Down Memory Lane

Platinum Airways, the very virtual Open Skies airline, has announced its next Destination of the Week theme. From 1 to 29 April, Platinum Airways pilots will be visiting four decommissioned airports. “Memory Lane” will touch down at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak (VHHH), Berlin’s Tempelhof (EDDI), South Africa’s Durban (FADN) and Johnston Atoll Airport (PJON).

Memory Lane presents Platinum Airways’ pilots with four airports that no longer have a valid ICAO code. The series starts with Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport (VHHH), whose code was taken over by the city’s new Chek Lap Kok Airport. Kai Tak has one of the most spectacular and technically challenging approaches for wide bodied aircraft, RWY 13. Next up is Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport (EDDI), one of Europe’s three iconic pre-World War II airports. The third trip down Memory Lane takes Platinum Airways to South Africa’s Louis Botha airport (FADN) in Durban, which was replaced by King Shaka Airport (FALE) in 2010. We end the series with the exotic Johnston Atoll Airport (PJON), idyllically located in the Pacific Ocean southwest of Hawaii on a 1.03 sq mi – 2.7 km² atoll.

As usual with Platinum Airways’ Destination of the Week airports, all trips down Memory Lane will be accompanied by navigational charts, links to scenery files and other aids to successfully approach the four decommissioned airports. Scenery links include X-Plane downloadable files where available. Pilots visiting the current DOTW receive a 5% Continue reading

Lausa Air Negotiates Contract in Support of F1GP Season 2012

Lausa Air, virtual airline for London Aviators USA (www.lausa.co.uk), has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Formula One World Championship Ltd. to offer logistic support for the series’ “flyaway” races. Working in conjunction with current Formula One Logistic Partner, DHL, Lausa Air will provide motorsport’s preeminent racing series the opportunity to return home between away races; something that was not always possible prior to the agreement.

Chartered by Formula One Management (FOM), flights will depart from London (EGKK) and Munich (EDDM) in support of various teams using their specially designed cargo crates which use all available space onboard the aircraft. Lausa Air’s new Boeing 747-8F will offer more capacity at less cost-per-mile than current transport options, although DHL will continue to provide the primary transport for the series.

The start of the 2012 F1 season in Melbourne, Australia will showcase the range and payload of the new 747-8F and Lausa Air will be on stand-by to provide both the governing body as well as the race teams with charter service to and from the various international racetracks.
