Venture Hawaii is proud to announce a new recruiting drive and fleet realignment to gain VATSIM certification and make our VA more appealing to a larger group of pilots. We have removed several redundant operating divisions and aircraft types we weren’t using and have added a few new types including the Shorts Belfast and will be receiving new CL-44’s in the coming week or two. In addition to these additions, we will be repainting and uploading the models of these aircraft to our section of our host website in the next couple of weeks. We are also hoping to finally add repaints of several other models we’ve lacked for a while.
Venture Hawaii is a moderately-sized VA, but our focus is on regional operations with most flight legs being under 3 hours. Our operations are centered on that of a mid- to late-1970′s second-tier airline using mainly classic British and European designs with some American designs mixed in. We have operations based in the Northern US, Southwest US, Alaska, Oceana (Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, and Samoan islands), and Europe. We also have a small operation (called Venture Safari) that operates out of Kenya, flying tourists from our European hubs.

After a 10 month closure, necessary due to real-world time constraints, Air Fresno will be reopening it’s doors in mid January. The small California based regional airline that originally opened in 1998 has suffered several closures over the years because of the lack of time needed for updates and operations. However, airline CEO Pete McKay states that now is the best time to reopen the airline. “There has been a decline in interest in the hobby as a whole, but I feel that there is still a place for a simple, basic requirement virtual airline to exist among all the technically challenging ones.” Air Fresno picked up where it left off and completed the livery and fleet changed it initially began in February, 2010, when the airline was closed due to lack of time. “All of the remaining staffers except one have agreed to return, operations have already begun.” The airline, which won a number of awards in the late 1990′s and early 2000′s keeps it’s operations simple, and there are no entrance exams.
What a great month December was. We logged a total of 121 pireps which is 23 up on last month. Our VA Central Rank jumped 7 places to 107.
Mikes tour in USA was a great success and Jacks tour In south America looks like being a great tour. We are still short of a Los Angeles Hub Manager. All applications will be considered and should be sent to ceo@caalair.com
I myself qualified as a ground controller on Vatsim in the Scottish RTS which covers Aldergrove. I would love to get an online event up and running to put Caal Air on the Vatsim Map. We have now been granted official partnership with Vatsim.
My last suggestion for a voice callsign was redhand, but unfortunately this callsign is used by the military so we need a new callsign. Any ideas will be considered.
I hope that 2012 brings Caal Air forward as a top VA and I would also like to thank everyone for Continue reading
